Blog Entry: 1 : The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. 2 : He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3 : And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? 4 : A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. The Jewish leaders came to Jesus asking for a sign to prove who he claimed to be. Jesus had already performed several miracles in front of them and they still didn’t believe already. There hearts were harden to the truth. As the Bible says eyes to see but they are blind, ears to hear but they are deaf. Jesus says the only sign they will receive is the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale for three days so shall Jesus be three days in the heart of the earth and will come again. (see Matthew 12:40). Jesus did rise again on the third day and they still refused to believe. And many today are still refusing today even some who claim to be Christian who doubt the resurrection of Jesus. They all doubt to their own damnation. As Paul says if Jesus didn’t rise again then our faith is in vain.
