35And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

 36But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

 37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

 38Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

The harvest are unbelievers and we are the laborers.  God expects us as Christians to bring in this great harvest by spreading the word of God.  These verses go along with the Great Commission later on in the Gospel. 

We are to be a light in this dark world.  A light that cannot be hidden.  A light that shines into the darkness that leads the way to Christ.  Some would say we shouldn’t be trying to force our beliefs on other people.  Well there is a wrong way and a right way to do it.  We should be showing the true way to God without being overbearing and judgmental.  We know how annoying it can be when someone is trying to force their beliefs on you.  A recent study showed that most people came to Christ by having a personal relationship with a believer.  In other words through a family member, friend, coworker or a neighbor.  As the saying goes “the only Bible some people will ever read is you”.  In other words the only thing some people will ever know of Christ is how you represent him to those around you.  Are you being a bright shining light for Christ or is your light dim.  Are we are doing our part to bring in the harvest?  I am asking this of myself just as much as of those who will read this.
