I really feel sorry for Bill Maher
Posted On 10/04/2008 19:56:44 by DeaconDan

I really do feel sorry for the "comedian" Bill Maher.  Every time I hear him and see him on TV, he invokes so many different emotions from me ranging from anger to sympathy.  Maher is truly a lost confused person who in my opinion if he does not change his ways is destined to an eternity of pain.  He has got to be the biggest anti-God, anti-patriotic person that I know.

His latest venture is a movie titled Religulous which I guess is a play off of the word ridiculous which is exactly what this film is.  Directed by the director of Borat and done in the same style, Maher goes across the world defaming the world's religions, including Christianity (particularly Catholicism), Judaism and Muslim.  He finds the most far extreme and ridicules God and religion.

It is called a documentary, but it is far from it.  He uses the film to pretend to be seeking an understanding of religions, but it is more than evident that the  motive is put his anti-God, atheist views into the public.  I would not see this film and as a matter of fact will not even patronize any theater that carries it.   I have seen the trailer for it and I have watched an interview of him about he film as he sat there with that smug look on his face defaming God.

Of course there will be many Christians who will go to see it for they will see it as simply humor, but it is more that humor.  It is his attemt to put down religion and people who beleive in God as well as to put down God.

There will be Christians who will pay their money that God has Blessed them with to see this trash because as I have said before Christians are Wimps!  When we were kids and someone talked about our moms or dads, we were ready to fight over it.  Now you have Maher that constantly talks about out Heavely Father and we take it lying down.

'Tis a shame that more of us do not stand up for the one who stood up for us.  As I stated earlier in my own little way, I will not patronize any theater that shows this atrocity, nor will I support any films that are produced by the same prodution company that produced Religulous.  Some of there are:

Distribution Companies Credit
Lionsgate Domestic Theatrical Distributor
Lionsgate Domestic Distribution Rights
Ascot Elite Entertainment Group Foreign Distribution Rights
Sandrew Metronome Distribution Sverige AB (Sweden) Foreign Theatrical Distributor
A-Film Distribution Foreign Theatrical Distributor
TVA Films Foreign Distribution Rights
Blue Sky Media Foreign Distribution Rights

What will you do to stand up for the Lord?

I too Deacon Dan will not be seeing this film.  It is,   as you are stating here, that it's not a comedy, he is putting down Religion and anything to do with Religion and very much so OUR LORD!!!  I remember seeing something on it.
I too feel it is in very bad taste,  it is very sicking I think.  I'm so glad that you brought this to light.  This kind of showing on mockery is truely wrong.
I will support you in this,  all the way!
Our love of The Lord,
Injungirl-Teresa

Fredrick, thanks for your comment.  You are right in that, as I said
I have never seen the film, but I have been to the website for the film
and I have watched the trailer, which trailers are the highlights of
all films (the part they use to encourage you to see them).  Just the
info on their site is enough to say that it is an adbomination to God.
I watched him on an interview about the movie and listened to his vitriolic
slander toward God, Christians and Religions.  I have read the reviews
that were done by the movie critics that have seen it and it all adds
up to the same thing. 1 + 1 = 2 no matter how you slice it.

You
said that if he got his "thirty piecies" he would just disappear.  I
wish that were true, but Maher has been out before and he keeps coming
back.  He has not shown that he would just go away.  I think the
opposite of what you say is true in that if we pay to see the movie and
then start to protest, we have then played into his hands.  We would
have supported this endeaveour and made it profitable to all invloved
which of course gives them more money and confidence to continue to
wage war against  God and His believers.  It would be one thing if he
was just making a movie to make money, but Maher has said on many
ocsassions how he thinks believers are stupid and to believe in God is
even dumber than the Believers themselves.

Good Sir, Having read your blog, this may well be the bigggest insult to come out of Hollywood since "The Last Temptation Of Christ."  It may well be offensive to every normal thinking Christian and everything else besides.  You say you have never seen the film, and advise others not to watch it.

How then can you in all sincerity wage a campaign against it and ask your fellow Brothers in Christ to sign a petition concerning a film they have never seen?  If it is, as you say an insult to every like-minded Christian, once the man is paid his thirty pieces of silver, he will disappear into obscurity.  He obviously revels in controversy, and, inadvertently, you are playing right into his hands.  See the film first, then rubbish it
