Just a short update.  It is 9:50 PM right now.  About 2 hours I guess since my initial blog about Hurricane Ike.  I lost my electricity about a hour ago.  I am typing this entry on my laptop which is connected to my cell phone.  Don't you just love modern technology.  They are reporting that there are 350,000 customers without electricity right now and the huricane is still about 2 hours out from landfall and about 3 hours or more from Houston.

I have been sitting outside enjoying the wind, but the gust of wind now is blowing dust and trash and had to get inside since it was getting in my eyes and my mouth.  Lots of wind, but yet still no rain.  I have my windows open now, but when the rain starts, I will have to close them.  It will sure get hot in here when that happens.

Neighbor having a candlelight garage party.  I may join them for a little while before it gets too late and too bad.  Saw some cars traveling on the streets, but not man.  What did amaze me was the amount of kids and teens that are wandering up and down the street.  Sitting on my porch is one thing, but walkingdown the street with this weather is CRAZY.
