Greedy customers kills Walmart employee
Posted On: 12/01/2008 07:01:19

This has got to be the most unnecessary death that I have heard of in a long time.  I am sure that you have heard the story already.  Like a lot of stores in America, a New York suburban Walmart store held its annual Black Friday bargain sale.  Customers waited all night Thursday night to get some "great" bargains such as a $798 Samsung 50-inch Plasma HDTV or a Bissel Compact Upright Vaccum for $28, or a Samsung 10.2 megapixel digital camera for $69 and DVDs such as "The Incredible Hulk" for $9.  Before the store could actually open, they busted through the doors, knocking down store employee Jdimytai Damour.  They rushed into the store walking over and on the downed employee, stampeded over him, crushing his throat and he died as a result.  Three other people were injured in the ordeal including an eight month pregnant mother.

Of course people are already talking about suing the store.   Sue, sue, sue, that's all we know.  People are not cattle and Walmart is not the feeding trough.  Greed killed this man, not Walmart.   Maybe Walmart should have had more security... maybe.  But what about the people themselves.   What about some personal responsibility of those who broke the door and rushed in to cause this death.  What is going on with human nature?  Some people when they were told that they would have to leave the Walmart because someone had been killed refused to do so saying, "I've been in line all night, I'm going to finish my shopping".

We've come a long ways from when everybody would get together and have a barn raising because someone needed help.

Now we just step on them and "raise hell" instead of barns, to the point they die.  People really need to slow down and get back to living as a soiety of those who love others as they love themselves.  Scripture says "The root of evil is the love of money" and it sure proves true in this case.  Shame on these greedy, lovers of bargains.
