I pray that you and yours have a wonderful, safe and Blessed Memorial Day Weekend. Remember those who have sacrificed their lives for us. Remember those in our families who are no longer with us and especially remember our Lord who sacrificed His Life so that we may live a life of eternal Happiness.
To some it sounds strange to say "Good" Friday for the day our Lord was crucified. It is truly good for this act of sacrifice opened the gates of Heaven to all who want it. It is good for we know it was a day that the enemy thought he had won, but just did not know that Jesus was to overcome death with Eternal Life. So this is the day the Lord has made and it is Good, so let us rejoice and be glad.
1. LIKE PAUL, I wll forget those things which are behind and press forward. (Phil 3:13) 2. LIKE DAVID, I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help. (Psa.121:1) 3. LIKE ABRAHAM, I will believe God and have it counted for righteousness. (Rom. 4:3) 4. LIKE ENOCH, I will walk with God in such a way that it pleases Him. (Gen 5:24) 5. LIKE STEPHEN, I will pray for the forgiveness of those who do me harm. (Acts 7: 59-60) 17. LIKE TIMOTHY, I will diligently apply myself to the study of God's Word. (2Tim. 2:15) 18. LIKE JESUS, I will be willing to die to self to bring forth much fruit for God's glory. (Matt. 16:24 and John 12:24). Realizing that I cannot hope to accomplish these things in my own strength. I will rely upon Christ, for "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." The indwelling Spirit of God gives both the desire and the ability to fulfill His will for our lives.

The Silversmith Some time ago, a few ladies met in a certain city to study the scriptures. While reading the third chapter of Malachi, they came upon a remarkable expression in the third verse:
"And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver [Malachi 3:3]"
One lady proposed to visit a silversmith, and report to them on what he said about the subject. She went accordingly, and without telling the object of her errand, begged the silversmith to tell her about the process of refining silver.
After he had fully described it to her, she asked, "But Sir, do you sit while the work of refining is going on?"
"Oh, yes madam," replied the silversmith; "I must sit with my eyes steadily fixed on the furnace, for if the time necessary for refining be exceeded in the slightest degree, the silver will be injured."
The lady at once saw the beauty, and comfort too, of the expression, "He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." God sees it needful to put His children into a furnace; His eye is steadily intent on the work of purifying, and His wisdom and love are both engaged in the best manner for us. Our trials do not come at random, and He will not let us be tested beyond what we can endure.
Before she left, the lady asked one final question, "When do you know the process is complete?"
"Why, that is quite simple," replied the silversmith. "When I can see my own image in the silver, the refining process is finished."
